minimalist aesthetic of porcelain panels
Porcelain panels are a logical choice with the increased adoption of open plan living in the construction industry. The absence of internal doors and walls make porcelain panel floor finishes ideally suited for large open plan living spaces. Dekton and Maximum provide a minimal aesthetic, robust finishes and minimal grout lines to any architectural space.
The directing of the sea breeze through the living areas of the house allows the cooling of the living areas by cross-ventilation. Cross-ventilation is a building design requirement since the inclusion of energy efficiency in the International Building Code. Open plan architectural designs result in larger floor areas, which permits large format panels up to 10’/3000mm.
The Maximum porcelain panels are the ideal floor finish for open planned designs and expansive floor areas. The porcelain panels have a format size of approximately 2/8”x5’x10’ or 6mmx1500mmx3000mm, 2/8”x3’x10’ or 6mmx900mmx3000mm or six other permutations.
Maximum includes seven different ranges offering thirty diverse Italian-made colors and patterns, offering a cost effective supply price for most building budgets. The versatility and resilience of the porcelain panels see them being utilized internally as a floor finish or cabinetwork bench-tops. Due to the large format size, the panels are also specified as internal wall finishes or external wall cladding. Arte Domus is currently the sole distributor of Maximum in the Australian construction market.
Porcelain panels are typically pressed with approximately 25 000 tons of uniform pressure during manufacturing process. This ultra-compaction process, creates panels with no micro-defects that can cause tensions or weak points in the porcelain as well as having no porosity.

Porcelain panel is abrasion resistant and outperform standard porcelain. Porcelain panel typically achieves 7/10 on the Moh’s hardness scale which is comparable to quartz. It is therefore a suitable surface to avoid scratches. Porcelain’s low porosity means that it is resistant to water and other liquids and therefore does not stain.
